Fraser Anderson is set to launch his third album, Little Glass Box, on his own independent label Monochrome Records. The Scotland-born singer-songwriter learned his
trade amongst the Scottish Folk scene, performing with Dougie MacLean as a
vocalist and supporting Joan Armatrading, The Low Anthem and Chuck Berry in
concerts around Britain and France, where he now lives.
The album, Little Glass Box, is a beautifully simple folk-soul sound with a retro vibe, recorded with world class musicians Danny Thompson on double bass (John Martyn, Nick Drake), Dick Pearce on trumpet (Ronnie Scott Quintet), Martin Ditcham on percussion (Sade) and Max Middleton on Rhodes piano (Jeff Beck, John Martyn). The result is an album that is both sensitive and mature.
He has played live sessions for Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, Radio Scotland and The Thistle & Shamrock show, broadcast on NPR. In January 2010, he did a live BBC set alongside Natalie Merchant and her band for Celtic Connections. the pre released Little Glass Box, has been named album of the week on North Fork Sound - The Radio Station - by New York based DJ and music veteran Howard Thompson who said the new album is "one of the best records he's ever heard." (April 20th, 2011). Fraser performed a live radio session in New York in May for WFUV, DJ John Platt described his live performance as 'breathtaking'.
